Bottarve in Vamlingbo

If you travel south from Visby on either highway 140 or 142 for some 80 kilometers shortly after Burgsvik you will reach the old Bottarve farm in Vamlingbo. The large stone house is a fine example of the south Gotland building style of the 18th and 19th centuries.

But Bottarve is much more than a landmark of an agrarian society. It is a living meeting place where authors, artists and researchers give popular lectures. There is a tourist information center with an internet cafe. In the tasteful shop you will find quality local clothing plus wood and lambskin handicrafts. The cafe serves coffee, tea, sandwiches and home-baked cakes daily.

Bottarve is open during the peak season (May 31 – September 1) from 11 – 5, and during the off season ( September 1 – September 15) from 11 to 5 Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Welcome to Bottarve.
